No two people are alike, and at Anton Brown Funerals we strive to make every service a true representation of your loved one and a moving tribute to them.

There are a range of ways personal touches can be incorporated into a commemoration, such as flowers, the coffin or casket, music, order of service booklets and visual presentations.

Our team of dedicated professionals specialises in delivering the personal touch to every service. And if you or your loved ones want to include any final wishes, we will be sure to do what we can to accommodate those.

Keep reading to find out some of the most common personal additions to a service, or don’t hesitate to reach out to our funeral directors to discuss your specific requests.

Personal Funeral Arrangements

As a result of COVID19 Livestream options are increasingly popular for funerals.

A Livestream is a live video feed of the funeral service that is available to watch over the internet via a link. This allows loved ones who cannot make it in person to be a part of the funeral.

We can assist you through a number of suppliers who can provide a Livestream service, so that family members are not trying to organise FaceTime or Skype on their own devices.

Many of the Cemeteries and Crematoriums now have condolence rooms for family and friends to meet after the service.

This is a good option for people who want to have a wake but do not want to have people back at their home. There are various menu options catering for light snacks to hot foods depending on the families wishes.

Your Funeral Director will show you the menu options for you to make a choice.

Some venues price per person attending, with some venues having a set minimum number for each option available.

Video Slideshows / DVD

Many of the Crematorium Chapels, and quite a few churches, have the equipment to play DVD video slideshows during a service.

Set to a meaningful piece of music, more and more people are now reflecting on people’s lives this way.

We are able to assist you in producing a slideshow, or can create it for you. We also have video equipment for hire if you are having the service in a venue without these facilities.

We may also be able to assist you if you would like a video recording or audio cassette of the service.

Military Poppy Services

In recognition of a person’s service in the military, we can arrange for the RSL or other service organisation to conduct a Poppy Service.

This involves a suitable person giving a brief history of the person’s military service and laying a symbolic red poppy on the coffin.

We then play the Last Post, recite the Ode and then play Reveille.

The coffin is covered with the Australian Flag during the service.

Order of Service Booklets

An order of service booklet can be a cherished keepsake in the event of someone’s death.

Many families like to give those attending a funeral service a thankyou card or provide a booklet with the order of the service and any songs or poems of significance. Some just provide a small handout with a few pictures for people to remember with.

Many of the churches produce booklets for the family if the service is at the church.

With modern home computers many family members can now produce booklets of a high quality, then arrange for copies to be made at places like Officeworks.

If you need help with producing a booklet, we can put you in contact with a professional printer that works closely with us and we recommend.
