Meet Brisbane Funeral Director – Michael Lohman
Brisbane funeral director, Michael Lohman, first entered Queensland’s funeral industry in 1990 when he happened upon a job ad in the paper.
At the time he was newly-married and mortgaged, so he was ready to knuckle down and focus on his career.
“An employment section advertisement appeared for a Funeral Director at E .C Thomas and son, NAMBOUR (now Invocare owned). It sounded interesting and was full time.”
More than 30 years later, we are so pleased that he’s part of our 100% Queensland-owned funeral company in Brisbane. And after all this time, Michael remains passionate about helping families.
“The most important part of my job is listening well and helping to make the funeral happen. I want to make a tough time easier.”
Michael says when planning for a funeral, people should consider the best place to hold the service, who the event is important to and how it should feel.
About Michael Lohman
Michael was born in Sydney and moved to Queensland at the end of the 1980’s.
He has a loving wife Kali and three adult children.
While the married couple are now empty-nesters, Michael says they are lucky to live in a beautiful spot in Brisbane near the Norman Creek and many great coffee shops.
They also have a beloved four-legged furbaby, a Beaglier named Lola, who they spend much of their downtime with. And when they’re not in Brisbane, they love to explore the Sunshine coast beaches and hinterland.
