Laurie Bremner has recently taken on a full-time role as a funeral director at Anton Brown Funerals in Brisbane, and in this blog, we’d like to tell you a little bit about him.
Meet Laurie Bremner
Laurie has been employed at Anton Brown Funerals for 18 years ago as a casual and joined the team full time in 2022.
In total he has more than 10 years’ experience attending funerals, and he stepped into a full-time funeral director role because he truly cares about heling families in the difficult time after loosing a loved one.
“I feel the most important part of my role is ensuring all the behind the scene details are correct so the day of the funeral proceeds with as little stress as possible. I strive to bring compassion and sensitivity to my dealings with bereaved families.”
Laurie is particularly interested in working with audio and visual systems during services, but like all of our funeral directors he assists with every aspect of funeral arrangements.
“If I had any advice for families facing the task of arranging a funeral, it would be not to hesitate relying on their network of family and friends to help them through the process.”
About Laurie Bremner
A number of our other Brisbane funeral directors were inspired to take up a career in this industry by family members, but for Laurie, it was reality tv that sparked an interest.
“I was inspired to become a funeral director having watched an American television show called Family Plots. So, when a position became available to work in the actual reality of a family run funeral home, I seized the opportunity.”
Along with watching shows on the small screen, he also enjoys cycling, playing chess, and the study of philosophy and theology.
Laurie was born and raised in Brisbane. He currently has one fur child – a Siamese cat.
