As office coordinator, Liz Lawless is the glue that holds the Anton Brown Funerals team together.
In this blog, we’d like to introduce you to Liz and reveal some of the reasons behind her strong work ethic and passion for our family-owned funeral home.
Meet Liz Lawless
Liz is one of the daughters of Anton and Sally Brown. It was always her plan to join the family business and ensure its success into the next generation and those that follow it.
“My parents have built up such a great business with a great honest reputation, that I would love to continue to grow.”
“My role is to ensure that the office runs smoothly and to assist our Funeral Directors with the back end of the arrangements for our families. It’s so important that this is done efficiently and correctly. Being a family business, I do whatever needs to be done.”
In her younger years, Liz’s determination and diligence propelled her to accomplish great things – particularly in the sporting field. She was part of the Australian U23 Rowing team, along with her two sisters.
“That work ethic has transformed into a working life.“
Liz now possesses qualifications in Business Management and Business Administration, and along with a varied career, in industries including Construction, Agriculture, Accounting, Logistics and Cabin Crew (Aviation), she’s a huge asset to our team.
“I’ve had various roles and in different industries over the years, which allows me to be quite adaptable and take knowledge and skills into my role.”
About Liz Lawless
Liz was born and raised in Brisbane. She is Sally and Anton’s youngest of three daughters.
Along with playing a pivotal role in the family business, Liz is wife to Gary and a busy mum of three (her little ones are 8, 6 and 5 years-old at the time of publishing).
And as she likes to stay active, she doesn’t mind that her kids keep her on her toes.
“I try to do Pilates 3 times a week, (and) I get a lot of my exercise chasing the kids around.”
“My weekends are spent with my family, usually taking my kids to soccer, swimming and cycling or scootering around our suburb. The kids also love visiting mum and dad.
