Meet our Founder Anton Brown
Anton’s career in the funeral industry spans 40 years and is thanks in part to his older brother Robert whose own job in the industry was influential to Anton as a young man.
Anton’s first role within the industry was with a larger company and when he began that position, he knew immediately he had found his purpose helping families. After about a decade working for someone else, he made the brave move to step outside of his comfort zone and start his own company.
Primarily, Anton made this decision because he wanted to give families an honest and caring funeral service. And he believes that family-owned, independent funeral homes like Anton Brown Funerals take greater care when dealing with grieving families and offer better personalisation of services.
“Every family is different, and every funeral is different. I treat all families the same but adapt to different requests and personalities.
“I just want our families to have a funeral they want for their loved one, rather than push them into something that’s not suited for them.”
When it comes to planning a funeral, Anton says:
“Take your time and choose wisely.”
About Anton Brown
Anton was born and raised in Brisbane. He met his wife Sally at a New Year’s Eve Party on the Gold Coast in 1978. The pair tied the knot in 1980 and celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary last November.
Anton and Sally are blessed with a large and loving family which consists of three daughters: Suzanne, Liz and Kim and six grandchildren: Lily, Sophie, Oliver, Courtney, Joseph and Grace.
When Anton isn’t working, he loves to spend time with his grandkids (and spoil them rotten!), watch the horse racing (he doesn’t mind taking a punt every now and then either) and clear his mind on board a sailing boat.
