Picking a coffin or casket can be a difficult yet important decision when you know it’s the final resting place of your loved one.
That’s why we’ve put together this blog which discusses the features of the most frequently selected coffin types available to our Brisbane families.
Simple coffins may be sufficient for cremations and non-attended burials, however if you’re having a more traditional service you may prefer to purchase a more sophisticated coffin.
At Anton Brown Funerals, we have access to a huge range of coffins and caskets that are sure to suit varying tastes, budgets and religious beliefs.
But first, before we run through our most popular styles of coffins, we want to explain the difference between coffins and caskets.
Coffin vs Casket
The main difference between coffins and caskets lies with the design.
Typically speaking, a casket has 4 sides and is rectangular in shape.
Whereas a coffin has 6 sides, and has a wider section at the top and becomes narrower at the bottom.
What are Coffins Made From?
Here at Anton Brown Funerals, the most common coffins are paper-veneered MDF coffins.
We have 5 different types on hand at our Brisbane funeral home in Woolloongabba including Basic, Teak, Sapele, White Pearl and Rosewood.
Teak is our most frequently selected coffin, but all of our alternatives are suitable for open viewings and church services, as well as cremations and burials.
